For Contractors
How the W-2 employment model works, what trades we supply, how requests are scoped, billing cadence, and insurance coverage.
10 questions
We provide 21 trade categories including both licensed trades (electricians, HVAC, plumbing, fire sprinkler, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, structured cabling) and unlicensed trades (carpentry, concrete, welding, pipefitting, ironworkers, heavy equipment operators, forklift operators, skilled labor, fire watch, hole watch, glass/glazing).
You will hear from a manpower partner within 24 hours of your request to talk through the scope. We do not publish a standard fill time, because an honest one does not exist — the real timeline is driven by two things: how many craftsmen you need, and how in-demand that specific trade is right now. Two journeyman carpenters and twelve 6G-certified welders during turnaround season are different problems, and any company quoting you the same number for both is guessing. Here is what actually moves the date: headcount, the trade and certifications required, whether the work is local or travel, site access requirements like TWIC or a client background screen, and how far ahead you tell us. On large mobilizations we build a phased deployment schedule with you rather than promising everyone on day one. This is the difference between a temp agency and a manpower solutions partner — we would rather plan your labor with you in advance than send warm bodies against a deadline. Contractors who bring us into planning early consistently get the crews they want; the ones who call the morning of get our honest read on what is realistic.
Our Tulsa headquarters and Oklahoma City branch dispatch across a five-state service region: Oklahoma statewide, North Texas (Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, McKinney, Sherman), Arkansas (Bentonville, Springdale, Fayetteville, Fort Smith), Kansas (Wichita), and Missouri (Joplin). Wherever your jobsite sits in that region, a manpower partner will meet with you within 24 hours of your request to scope the work.
All of our craftsmen are W-2 employees of Craftsmen Resources. This means we handle payroll, taxes, workers' compensation, and benefits administration. The W-2 model provides our clients with reduced liability and consistent workforce quality.
Most commercial contractors are truly busy seven to eight months a year, and winter is slow. Holding trained craftsmen through the slow season often means breaking even in the first quarter. A variable workforce solution keeps your field staff lean — your A- and B-level craftsmen — and supplements from our pool of skilled, licensed W-2 craft professionals only when the work is there. We recruit and retain them; you use them per project or as needed. When your project or season slows, we absorb those craftsmen and place them on other client projects. Contractors that run a variable workforce spend less on yearly employee costs than contractors who carry a full crew through the winter — we'll walk the math for your headcount.
Time is submitted and client approval is received by Tuesday, and you receive your invoice by Wednesday. Payment is due upon receipt — we consider ourselves an extension of your payroll, and our employees are paid weekly. All time is tracked electronically with timecard backups for your records, and billing is a single hourly bill rate per trade classification with no hidden fees.
Yes. Craftsmen Resources maintains comprehensive workers' compensation coverage and general liability insurance. We can provide certificates of insurance upon request for your project requirements.
All employees review the safety manual, participate in a safety orientation, and receive the current month's Toolbox Talk during the hiring process. After hire, Toolbox Talks are sent out monthly for review. Applicable safety training can be administered on a per-project basis, and pre-assignment drug screens and background checks can be administered per project based on client or site requirements.
Every craftsman assigned comes with a 4-hour guarantee. If the employee does not meet expectations within the first 4 hours of their first day on assignment, we will replace the employee at no additional cost.
Our multi-stage vetting process includes skills assessment, certification verification, reference checks, drug screening, background checks, and safety training verification. We ensure every craftsman we deploy meets the highest standards of skill and reliability.

As W-2 employees, our craftsmen receive health insurance through United Healthcare, dental through Delta Dental, vision through VSP, and paid time off (PTO). 401(k) participation eligibility begins after one year of employment. Pay is weekly with electronic timekeeping. We believe skilled professionals deserve skilled-professional benefits.
Not necessarily. We place both licensed and unlicensed tradespeople. Licensed trades (electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, etc.) require current licensure. Unlicensed trades (carpentry, welding, concrete, skilled labor, etc.) require demonstrated experience and relevant safety certifications.

General
What makes Craftsmen Resources different from a temp agency, and the company's Oklahoma track record.

Three things set us apart: our W-2 employment model (not 1099 contractors), our comprehensive benefits package that retains top talent, and our deep Oklahoma roots with hands-on ownership. We are not a temp agency — we are a project manpower company. Instead of recruiting people for you to hire, we recruit and retain skilled, licensed craft professionals for you to use through your busy season, and when your work slows we absorb them onto other client projects.
